"Connecting People with God, and Helping them Grow." The Purpose of the Girard Bible Church shall be to stand FIRM on the Bible, the Word of God, so that others will know God's Salvation and Plan for mankind through: (1) Biblical "TEACHING", preaching, and instruction for practical application. (2) "REACHING" out by collectively and individually evangelizing and by supporting Christ-centered missions and ministries, and (3) "MEETING" together for worship, prayer, fellowship, and encouragement.
INTRODUCTION: 1. We believe in the verbal inspiration (that is, God breathed) of the Bible as the Word of God and is the sole authority for our beliefs (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21). 2. We believe in the Triune God -- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Co-existent and co-equal (1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 28:19). 3. We believe in the absolute Holiness of God that no sin can enter into His presence (Revelation 21:7; Habakkuk 1:13). We also believe in the fallen nature of man and this fall occurred in Adam and man is separated from God and is doomed to hell (Romans 5:12; Jeremiah 18:3-4; Isaiah 59:2; Romans 6:23). 4. We believe in salvation by grace through faith in the reconciliatory death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; Isaiah 53:6; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:18; Hebrews 9:22). We believe that the Lord Jesus is God (John 10:30). We believe in the virgin birth as essential to His atoning work on the cross. 5. We believe in the blessed hope of His eminent return to receive His own (Titus 2:13). We believe in His return to earth in power to rule and reign for a period of a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-7). 6. We believe each believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit when he is saved, and is eternally secure (Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 4:30, Romans 8:11). We believe in separation of the believer from the world as stated in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. Also, the believer should have a holy walk (Ephesians 4:24). We observe the two ordinances the Lord gave us -- baptism by immersion, and of the Lord's Table. We believe that believers are the only witnesses to a lost world. God's command to us is that "Ye shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the utmost part of the world" (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20). 7. We believe in the resurrection of the just and the unjust. The just, or believer, to everlasting life with the Lord Jesus. We believe in the literal heaven that the Bible speaks of in John 14:2. The unjust, or unbeliever, to eternal death in the lake of fire prepared for the devil and his angels (1 Corinthians 15:52-57; Revelation 21:3).
